I wrote this poem in reflection to being let down by people, enjoy.
I can see.
I take in things as they come
I understand the interworking of the conundrum.
I choose not to see.
I would rather be blind to the tragedy,
Than be able to see you in all honesty.
I would rather give out hope.
Hope in humanity,
and ignore the insanity.
I would rather believe.
Believe in the good,
and hope your just misunderstood.
I know your intentions
I know who you really are
And all that you stand for.
I can see the pain you will cause,
and I ignore the instincts because I have hope.
Hope that will you not be
the man that I see.
This is not a fault of mine,
don’t be confused.
This is a fault of you
You reinforce the stereotype.
You hand out prejudice,
Because it can’t stand without us.
Showing the true nature of mankind,
You reveal what I see.
I will continue to turn my head
in hopes that my stereotypes will be shed.
I hope that you will
hope that you will give me a reason to hope
a reason to believe than man has the right intentions.
I don’t want to see
Don’t want to see the cruelty
not the brutality.
but honesty.
Give me a reason to hope,
a reason to believe.
Turn my sight into paranoia,
‘Cause I would rather be crazy.
Rather be crazy than to know the intentions of you.

Beliefs
Earlier in the summer my great grandmother died and there was a mass for her funeral at a Roman Catholic Church. Before it started I was at the front handing out programs for the mass. One man comes up, and I hand him a program. He than asks me "Is this a funeral service?"
I respond, "Yes, but im not sure if it's open to the public or not."
The man than tells me in a rude tone "All funeral services here are open to the public. If you were Roman Catholic you would know that." The man seems so proud to say the next words of, "I do not wish to attend this mass. I will go elsewhere."
So I than say politely, "Okay, goodbye."
He than turns back to me and asks "Are you even Catholic?" At this point I am already irritated at him, the nerve to be so rude to a grieving family on the steps of a Church is baffling.
I respond "No, I'm not." I was raised Catholic, but I do not believe there is a higher power.
The man says "I thought so." He seemed very pleased that I was not Catholic, and that I could not possibly be a part of his community because I was unsure of the openness of a mass. On top of this, he would not attend a service because someone that did not believe in what he believed was attending.
This situation makes me think. Why do people view themselves as better over those who do not believe the same things they do? This man did not ask me what I did believe in, just because I was not Roman Catholic he did not like me. I was very polite to this man and he was extremely rude and insensitive to the given situation. So why does someones beliefs make you better?
All religions have similarities; they all are based on a set of rules of morality. So just because a person does not believe in the same thing you believe in, does not mean they are not a good person. In fact, there are many people that do believe the same things you do that could be worse people than ones that do not affiliate with any religion.
So why must we judge people based on their beliefs? Just because you believe that there is a God does not make you a good person. The actions you partake in make you a good person.
Do not judge based on faith, or belief, judge on character and action because that is what determines your decency.

Impacts
No matter what, other peoples actions will impact you. Only you can determine how they effect you.
As my life progresses i notice things. These are things that i did not notice before because they are the results of others actions on me. Some of them are good, but the ones that are recognizable are bad. What bothers me most is that their not my actions that have made changes to me, their impacts from other people that i have to adapt to.
There are constant struggles. Once you get over one struggle, there is another one coming that will be worse. However, it only seems like your struggles get worse because your growing so smaller ones are not recognizable; they make good changes. Even though it seems like your climbing the peaks of Mt. Everest now, your not. We all climb hills. We build up strength so these hills seem like were walking a boardwalk, so when we do actually face a mountain... it looks like we wont be able to get to the top to enjoy the beauty of the accomplishing a difficult task. When you do though, it is beautiful.
When we don't climb the hill, that's when a hill can turn into a mountain, or even a string of mountains. The trick is to look at what your doing now; look below your feet and see what your actually climbing.

Interactions
I have always felt that there were two worlds. One is your own perspective; what you know and what have people told you. This is the only viewable perspective to each person. The second perspective is what everything actually is. What you do know and what is kept from you. There is no possible way to see the second perspective. All people do know is their own which is gathered from what their told.
With this in mind, live the life happily in your own perspective, because its the only one that really matters. There is no point in trying to please the unknown because the mood of it is the same - unknown.

The Point
For the past couple weeks i have been faced with the question: What is the point in being alive?
My previous answer would have been to be there for my friends and family; if i died they would be sad.
However, more recently i started thinking about the bigger picture. The point of being alive is to make impacts on the future, to be remembered. What is the point to living if you do not make any change?
Change can be made through many means.
What is the point to being alive if you wont be remembered? Strive for remembrance, to be known as a person who made a difference in someones life. Otherwise, whats the point?... you tell me, i would love to hear your opinions.

Change can be made through many means.
- You can help someone out of a bad spot, so they can do something memorable.
- You can become famous though historical, political, economical and even through the means of entertainment.
- You can have a child to make impacts on evolution.
